Have Cold! Will Persist!

I feel like $#!%. Having a cold sucks. I watch and sleep with my grandkids twice a week. For the last 2  weeks, one at a time, they have been feverish, coughing and sneezing in my face. Now they’re better and I’m a snotty mess. My entire body is acidic from my big red nose to my queasy belly, which is where I believe all disease incubates.
In spite of my cold, I wanted to make (and film) a healthy dinner with the kids tonight. The problem is they rarely  eat healthy anymore and they don’t like to try new things. They’ve become addicted to spaghetti, mac & cheese and chicken nuggets. I never knew chickens even had nuggets. One  healthy thing that they do like is fresh juice so that’s what we’ll make. If I drink two green juices today maybe it’ll help my cold go away.
I believe colds are actually a good thing because it’s the body’s way of getting rid of the mucus from toxins that we ingest and that we inadvertently take in from our environment. But having a cold is no fun.
There’s nothing like a hot shower ( or bath) to loosen things up and open the pathways. Time for me to clean up, make an attempt at being human and get ready to work in the office today.
See you in the video this evening.

My first attempt @ shooting and editing a 2 camera video (of myself no less). I can’t believe I forgot to take the curlers out of my hair, oops. The food was gone (after I ate it) so I couldn’t re-shoot. Next time I’ll look in the mirror first.

Also I need better lighting and sound. All in all I’m pretty pleased with the shooting and editing for my first try.

Setting Myself up for Success

Day 5

Setting yourself up for success

Planning/shooting/editing and posting a video. .

I rarely have an entire day to myself and producing each video will take at  least a day. An hour or two to shop, at least a couple of hours for the shoot and a day or more for the editing and post production. All for a short video.

So if I don’t have an entire day to prepare and shoot, I have planned as follows:

Day one

Choose the recipe. Shop for the ingredients for my dish/meal: farmers markets, road-side stands, health food stores, Trader Joes, regular grocery stores etc. Document the planning and shopping experience. Most of the time choosing the recipe will depend on the fresh ingredients that I can find.

Day two

Prepare my workspace (kitchen)

Set up cameras, lights and begin shooting.

Prep ingredients

Prepare dish

Day 3

Edit the photos/videos

Write the accompanying blog

Post

In the beginning I will be posting the videos on YouTube with photos and links on my blog page. Eventually I will be able to embed the videos into the blog.

Lights! Camera! Action!
